Born May 5, 1918, in Windber, son of Ignacy and Camilla (Kozloski) Laskowski. Preceded in death by parents: sister, Katherine Moszczynski; brother, Joseph, and sister-in-law, Margaret Verna. Survived by his wife, the former Clara L. Verna, and these children: Stanley Jr., married to Ruth Ann Cable; Kathy; Andy, married to Katie Morrison, and Jeanne Ann, wife of Richard Norris, all of Johnstown, and Michael and special friend Lisa Wiethorn, Irving, Texas; also five grandchildren: Jason, Justin, Jennifer, Emily and Adam. Brother of Sophia, wife of Edgar Gaubert, Levittown, N.Y.; Henry, married to Frances Runtz, Boswell RD 1; Helen, widow of Joseph Madey, Windber; Louise, wife of Robert Curtis, Palmdale, Calif.; Ann, widow of Elwood Phillips; Marcy, New York, and Mary Ann, Los Angeles, Calif. Brother-in-law of Ann Laskowski, Ocala, Fla.; Alfred and Jane Verna, Falls Church, Va.; Mildred (Verna) and Joseph Kroll, Arlington, Va., and Dorothy (Verna) and Calvin Singer, Hollsopple; also numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Benscreek, Johnstown; Board of Trustees of the Foundation for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown; Society of St. Vincent DePaul, TPA, Boswell Historical Society, and NASCAR. Honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus. Army veteran of World War II. Owned and operated Lasky Construction Co. Inc., OPI Oil, Lasky Landfill and the Jennerstown Speedway. Observed 44th wedding anniversary Oct. 1, 1993. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Thursday, followed by Christian wake service. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Church, with the Rev. Father Barry Baroni officiating. Entombment, St. Anthony's Mausoleum, Windber. Military rite in charge of Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team.
