Born Aug. 20, 1943 in Canonsburg, Washington County. Son of Ellen A. "Toots" (Breckons) Laughlin of Houston, Pa., and the late Carl Lemoyne Laughlin. Survived by his wife the former Phyllis Kay Hetzer to whom he was married 28 years and two children Jennifer Kay Laughlin of Somerset and Jeffrey Carl Laughlin of Somerset. A 1961 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School. Vietnam Veteran U.S. Air Force. 1968 graduate of Pa. State Police Academy. Retired from Pa. State Police Jan. 1, 1993 with 25 years of service. Attended Beulah United Methodist Church and member of American Legion Post 181 and Pa. State Troopers Association. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Rev. Dennis A.
