  Verna Marie Laughlin, 93, Johnstown. Absent from the body present with the Lord
  on Aug. 21, 2005, at Beverly Health Care, Vo-Tech Drive, Johnstown. Born Aug.
  13, 1912, in Cumberland, Md., daughter of the late Silas B. and Mazie Kathryn
  (Moon) Twigg. Preceded in death by husband, Wayne, sister, Virginia Grasser and
  brother, Galen. Survived by children: Alvin Lavan, married to Verda (Miller) and
  Galen, married to Sandra (Boyer) both of Romulus, Mich. and Kathryn (Kathy),
  widow of James L. Bonner, Johnstown. Also seven grandchildren; nine
  great-grandchildren and sister, Shirley Hostetler, Cumberland, Md. Member of
  the Davidsville Community Church and attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
  Verna served in Child Evangelism Fellowship (C.E.F.) as county director in
  Somerset, Cambria and Mercer counties in Pa. and in three county area in Ohio
  for 20 years. She left many very close friends in Ohio in 1991 when she chose
  to come back to Johnstown to be near her daughter "Kathy." She was a graduate
  of the Hooversville High School. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7
  to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Geisel Funeral Home-Dale. Funeral service will be held
  at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Geisel-Devlin Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Michael Beam
  and the Rev. David Streets officiating. Interment, I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Stoystown.
