Harry Lavan, 60, of Somerset RD 6, died Oct. 4, 1985, at his residence. Born Dec. 20, 1924, in Jefferson Township, son of the late John W. and Margaret (Uphouse) Lavan. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester. Survived by his wife, the former Betty Trent; and a daughter, Patricia Lavan, Somerset RD 6. He was the brother of Jay Roy, Somerset RD 6; John J., Mrs. Emerson (Olive) Crise, and Martha Brant, all of Somerset RD 4. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. He was employed by Naugle Feed and Supply Co. Member of F.O.E. Oldtimers Baseball Club, Berlin, Meyersdale VFW, New Baltimore Sportsmen's Association and the Laurel Ridge Sportsmen's Association. Friends are being received from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Walter Startzel officiating. Interment, Lavansville Cemetery. Family requests contributions be made to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. Daily American, October 5, 1985 [L0388]
