  JACOB ROY LAVAN
  
  Jacob Roy Lavan, 87, Somerset, died April 21, 2004, at Somerset Hospital. 
  Born Nov. 21, 1916, in Jefferson Township, he is the son of the late John
  W. and Margaret (Uphouse) Lavan.  Also preceded in death by sisters, Olive
  Crise and Martha Brant, brothers F. Harry Lavan and Kenneth Lester Lavan. 
  Survived by brother John Jerry Lavan, Somerset and numerous nieces and
  nephews and their families.  He will especially be missed by loving niece
  Patty Lavan, her son Bradley and sister-in-law Betty Lavan.  He was a
  member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Bakersville, FOE Aerie 1801 and
  actively involved with the Somerset Senior Center.  Retired life long
  farmer on the Lavan Brothers family farm in Jefferson Township.  Friends
  received from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home
  where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.  Pastor Elisa Osman
  officiating.  Interment Lavansville Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to
  Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 3093 Glades Pike, Somerset, Pa. 15501.
