Born June 27, 1924, in Somerset Township, daughter of the late Irvin and Viola Grace (Spangler) Trent. Also preceded in death by brothers, Lewis P., Ralph I., and Fred J. Trent and sister, Ruth J. Trent. Survived by husband, John J. "Jerry" Lavan, to whom she was married for 49 years; daughter, Mrs. Roger D. (Margaret "Peggy") Hay, Somerset RD 4, and grandson, John W. "J.W." Hay. Sister of Mrs. James A. (Mary Etta) Williamson, Friedens RD 2; Mrs. Betty Lavan, Somerset; Mrs. Marie Yinkey, Somerset; John J. Trent, Friedens RD 1; Clifford E. Trent, Somerset RD 7, and Donald Trent, Friedens. Member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, VFW Post 554 Auxiliary, and Bakersville Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Bakersville, with the Rev. Greg Gohn officiating. There will be viewing at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment, Lavansville Lutheran Cemetery.
