Lawrence, contractor, aged 44, died Tuesday afternoon in the Windber Hospital as the result of injuries sustained last week when he fell from a building in Bedford. Pneumonia developed a short time after he was admitted to the hospital. He was a native of Somerset County. Surviving are his wife, his mother and a son, Earl Lawrence, who was graduated from Missouri University in 1929. Mr. Lawrence erected the Arlington Hotel in Somerset and the first Somerset High School. He moved from Somerset to Bedford in 1918 and had resided there ever since that time. He built many of the substantial buildings of Bedford, including the First National Bank, the High school and Pennsylvania Hotel. Funeral services will be held at his late residence in Bedford at 2:30 Friday afternoon. Meyersdale Republican, May 1, 1930
