RICHARD W. LAYDING

  Richard W. Layding Sr., 57, of 720 Main Street, Berlin, died March
24, 1979 at Meyersdale Community Hospital.
  He was born July 1, 1921 in Berlin, a son of Frank and Elsie Mae
(Landis) Layding.
  He was preceded in death by mother, and an infant brother.
  He is survived by father; wife, the former Betty Johnson; two sons,
Richard W. Jr. of Middletown, Ohio; and Robert of Somerset; three
grandchildren; and one sister, Bertina Layding of Berlin.
  He was a member of the First Brethren Church, Berlin, and was
superintendent of the Contract Division of New Enterprise Stone and
Lime Company.
  Friends were received at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin
where services were held with the Rev. Ralph E. Mills officiating. 
Interment, Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
