(Buzz) Layman, 56, of Grantsville RD 2, Maryland, died March 5, 1984, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Maryland. Born at Frostburg, Maryland, he was a son of the late Leander T. Layman and the late Hazel (Broadwater) Layman. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 8826, Salisbury; and Casselman Valley Sportsman Club in Grantsville. He was a heavy equipment operator for the George Construction Company. He was preceded in death by his first wife Olive (Dishong) Layman, and is survived by his widow, Inez (Lewis) Layman. Also surviving are his step-mother, Mrs. Stella Layman; two sons, Gary Layman and Jeffrey Layman, both of Grantsville; one daughter, Mrs. Susan Hughes, also of Grantsville; one brother, George Layman, of Rockville, Md.; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Mae Bittner, of Frostburg, Md.; Mrs. Nancy Watkins, of Grantsville, Mrs. Sarah Howard, of Rockville and Mrs. Judy Morlen, of Cumberland, and seven grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home in Grantsville, where services were conducted with the Rev. K. Almond officiating. Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery.
