    Elsie L. (Lancaster) Layton, 92, Jerome, died Feb. 9, 2008, at Country Manor, Jerome.
  Born June 27, 1915, in Avilton, Md.,  daughter of Elmer and Anna Florence (Wampler)
  Lancaster. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Lloyd J. Layton on Dec. 8, 1981; son,
  Robert Layton; brothers, Stanley, Victor,  Homer, Ellis and Daniel Lancaster; sisters,
  Ethel Foster,  Virgie Lohr, Gladys Griffith and Ida Russell. Survived by  daughter, Ida
  Jean, married to John Williams, Fairburn, Ga.; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Gregory, Brian and
  Michael Everett,  Melissa Weaver, Robert Layton Jr. and Laurie Humphrey;  10
  great-grandchildren; and sister, Isabelle Dawson,  Dresden, Ohio. She was a retired
  private duty nurse.  Member of the Boswell Church of God, where she helped  rebuild the
  church after a fire destroyed it. She also  taught Sunday school and Bible school. Over
  the years,  she was a foster parent for 29 children from the Children's  Aid Home in
  Somerset. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  Monday, at the Hoffman Funeral Home &
  Cremation  Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where service will be  held 11 a.m. Tuesday.
