  LAYTON
  
  Lloyd J. Layton, 71, of 264 Fifth St., Jerome, died evening of Dec.
  8, 1981, in Memorial Hospital, Johnstown.  Born July 21, 1910, in
  Somerset County, a son of John W. and Ida M. (Plummer) Layton. 
  Preceded in death by parents; two brothers, Harry and John; two
  sisters, Cora Stevens and Becky Carrico.  Survived by widow, the
  former Elsie L. Lancaster; two children: Robert, married to former
  Dixie Lee Berkebile, Stoystown RD 3, and Jean, wife of Glenn Everett,
  Jerome; seven grandchildren.  Brother of Betty Scaccia, West Palm
  Beach, Fla.  Attended Boswell Church of God.  Retired miner and
  carpenter.  Would have celebrated 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 19,
  1981.  Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
  Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where
  service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Samuel E.
  Charlton. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery.
