    Lois E. Layton, 76 of Frostburg, Md., died Friday, June 15, 2007 at
  WMHS Braddock Campus. 
    She was born November 5, 1930 in Perkin, daughter of the late John
  T. Myers and Margaret Rayner. Lois was also 
  preceded in death by her husband, Myrle N. Layton; one brother, John Myers;
  and two sisters, Betty Cook and Mary  Snyder.
    Surviving are two daughters: Sandra Kay Chirdon and husband William,
  Cumberland, Md; Peggy Ann Preston and 
  husband Benjamin, Cumberland; one son, Merrill E. Layton and wife Vicki,
  Hagerstown, Md.; one grandson, Christopher 
  Preston and wife Rachael, Cumberland.
    Mrs. Layton was retired as a seamstress from the Flushing Shirt
  Factory, and later worked as a cashier and greeter at Wal-Mart.
    Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost
  Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday.
    Funeral services were conducted at the Funeral Home on Monday with
  the Rev. T. William Preston officiating.
    Interment was in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
    The family requests memorials be directed to Allegany County Animal
  Shelter, 716 Furnace Street, Cumberland, MD 
  21502.
