   Mary C. (Thomas) Layton, 86, Arbutus Park Manor, Johnstown, formerly of Boswell, died
  July 6, 2007, at the manor. Born Feb. 5, 1921, in Conemaugh Township, daughter of Ephraim
  A. and Katie A. (Berkey) Thomas. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Harry J. Layton
  Sr. on June 23, 1972; stepson, Harry J. Layton Jr.; infant daughter, Barbara Ann; infant
  stepdaughter, Flora Mae; sister, Margaret Miller; and two infant brothers. Survived by
  stepdaughter, Faye Thompson, Carney's Point, N.J.; nine step grandchildren and numerous
  step great- and stepgreat-great-grandchildren; sister, Sarah Thomas, Conemaugh Township;
  brother, Paul Thomas, married to former Ruth Sarvis, Soap Hollow; and numerous nieces and
  nephews. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish. Former member of Boswell Volunteer Fire
  Department Ladies Auxiliary. Viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. Monday at
  the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Deacon Jay
  Pyle officiating. Interment Maple Spring Cemetery. Contributions in Mary's memory may be
  given to Arbutus Park Manor, 207 Ottawa St., Johnstown, PA 15904.
