JOHN LEAR

  John Lear, aged 82, retired Upper Turkeyfoot farmer, passed away at the home 
of his son, Ross C., Aug. 28.  He was preceded in death by his wife 20 years 
ago.
  In addition to the son mentioned above, Mr. Lear is survived by the following 
brothers and sisters: Edward B. Lear, Kingwood; William A. Lear, Upper 
Turkeyfoot Township; Mrs. Katherine Sweitzer, Kingwood, and Mrs. Mary Snyder, 
Hooversville.  Nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive.  
  Funeral services were conducted in the Rockwood United Brethren Church, Friday 
afternoon, by the pastor, Rev. J. I. Houpt.  He was a member of the Rockwood Odd 
Fellows Lodge and was laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in that place with 
fraternal honors.
