  LEASE
  
    Miriam Peck Lease, 90, of Westminster, Md., formerly of Friedens,
  died March 1, 1998, at Carroll Lutheran Village, Westminster.  Born
  Sept. 16, 1907 in Elk Lick Township, daughter of Jonas M. and Mary
  (Reitz) Peck.  Preceded in death by parents; husband Willard B.;
  sisters Ruth Lohr, Alma Myers, and Mable Whitacre; brothers William
  and Ralph Peck; and stepdaughters Elaine Pyle and Arlene Cassady. 
  Survived by brother Paul J. Peck of Springs; stepchildren Edith
  Hoffman of Berlin, Elvin Lease of Friedens, and stepson-in-law Donald
  Pyle of Friedens; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3
  great-great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews.  A
  graduate of Juniata College and California State Teachers College. 
  Elementary teacher for 42 years, most of those in Kantner.  She was a
  member of Friedens Lutheran Church.  Family will receive friends from
  7-9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be
  held at 11 a.m. Tuesday.  Rev. James R. Ling officiating.  Interment
  Friedens Lutheran Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given to
  Friedens Lutheran Church, Friedens, PA 15541.
