Lease, 88, Friedens RD 2, died Nov. 10, 1981, at Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Jan. 20, 1893, in Stonycreek Township, son of Minnie (Lease) Long. He was preceded in death by mother; first wife, former Edna Rhoads; and half-sister, Verda Long; also infant grandson. He is survived by widow, former Miriam Peck; children: Edith, widow of Floyd Hoffman, Berlin; Mrs. Donald (Elaine) Pyle and Elvin, both of Friedens; and Mrs. William (Arlene) Cassady, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and half-sisters and half-brother, Alma Long, Bessie Long, and J. Chester Long, all of Friedens, and Nancy Pfhrogner, State of Indiana; also 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was an army veteran of World War I; life-long member of Friedens Lutheran Church; member of Stoystown Lions Club; Labor Union Local 419 and Somerset VFW. Friends were received at the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Services were held at Friedens Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James R. Ling. Interment, church cemetery.
