Leckemby Sr., 88, Punta Gorda, Fla., and Meyersdale, died Aug. 21, 1987, in Meyersdale Manor. Born Jan. 15, 1899, in Confluence, a son of the late Joseph H. and Alice (Ringler) Leckemby. Also preceded in death by wife, Cornelia (Johnston). Survived by these children: William R. Jr., Thurmont, Md.; Joseph J., Brunswick, Ohio; Dorothy, wife of Charles Peterson, Central Lake, Mich.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph H. of Lehigh Acres, Fla. He was a member of the Punta Gorda Methodist Church. Was a train master for the B&O Railroad and a veteran of World War I, where he served with Company C. He was also a member of the F&AM Lodge 358, Somerset; Hebron RAC, Meyersdale; the VFW; the Modern Woodmen of America; the Consistory and Shrine, Pittsburgh; and past commander of Charles E. Kelly Post, American Legion. Friends will be received at the Leckemby Funeral Home Sunday 2-4, 7-9 p.m., where services will be Monday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Carl Mitchell.
