Born near Hyndman, he was a son of Mrs. Cora Kennell of Pittsburgh, and the late William Leckemby. He was a member of the Hyndman Methodist Church, and a veteran of World War II having served 4 1/2 years, of which 31 months were spent in England and France. Mr. Leckemby was employed as a Baltimore and Ohio brakeman at the time of his death. Surviving are four children - Mrs. Dale Kipp, Mrs. Linwood Printy, William M. Leckemby, Jr., and Howard R. Leckemby, one grandchild, Leroy Lee Kipp, all of Hyndman; four half-brothers and sisters - Leroy Kennell, Eugene Kennell and Mrs. Alberta Kennell, Turtle Creek, and Mrs. J. F. Trogolione, Wilkinsburg. Also surviving are two aunts - Mrs. Walter Gaumer, Pittsburgh, and Mrs. John Austin, Meyersdale. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, February 25, at 3 o'clock at the Zeigler Funeral Home by Rev. John Bucher, pastor of the Hyndman Reformed Church. Burial in Hyndman Cemetery with the Oscar Jordan Post Veterans of Foreign Wars conducting military rites. Meyersdale Republican, March 6, 1947
