Lee, widow of the late Rev. Joseph Lee, died Sunday, June 6, at her home at Mt. Lake Park, Md. Funeral services were held at her home, Tuesday afternoon, June 8. The Rev. I. S. Middaugh, a former Methodist pastor of Wheeling, W.Va., officiated. Interment was made in the Oakland Cemetery. Mrs. Lee was the daughter of the late Samuel and Catherine Hoye Engle, and was born on the Engle farm near Grantsville. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jennie L. Richardson of Washington, D.C., and Miss Nelle C. Lee of Mt. Lake Park, and by a granddaughter, Mrs. Catherine L. Ray of Louisville, Ky., and great-granddaughter, Carolyn Ray. Her son, Dr. Samuel Lee, died several years ago. The Rev. Mr. Lee died in 1912. He served the Grantsville charge years ago. Both the Rev. and Mrs. Lee were well-known by the older folks in Grantsville and community. She was an active member of the Mt. Lake Park Methodist Church, a devout Christian and of kindly disposition. Meyersdale Republican, June 24, 1948
