(Lapina) Legarski, 78, of Somerset Pike, Somerset RD 2, died May 6, 1997, at home. Born May 4, 1919, in Quecreek, daughter of Pete Sr. and Josephine (Baroni) Lapina. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Kathryn Sagel and Josephine Manuska, and brothers, Benjamin and Theodore. Survived by husband, John G., and children: John G. II, married to Mary Peretti, Roaring Spring; Dottie, wife of Randy Bacher, New Alexandria, and the Rev. Father Anthony J., lieutenant, U.S. Navy chaplain, stationed at N.W.S. Earle, Colts Neck, N.J.; and grandchildren, Christopher and Stephen Legarski. Sister of Agnes Baroni, Jenner Crossroads; Lillian Bills, Arizona; Dorothy Blucas, Colorado; Joann Riddick, Louisiana; Pete Jr., State of Indiana, and Samuel, Rockwood RD. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish and the auxiliaries to the Sipesville Volunteer Fire Department and Somerset American Legion Post 181. Former Democratic committeewoman in Lincoln Township and past president of the Lincoln Township PTA. Served on the Lincoln Township Election Board and the Somerset County Computation Board. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Church, Acosta, Rev. Father Anthony Legarski, celebrant and the Rev. Blase Wegierski, O.F.M. Conv., concelebrant and homilist. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Somerset American Legion Auxiliary service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the In-Touch Hospice, 601 S. Center Ave., Somerset, or the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Montefiore Hospital-7 Main, 3459 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh, 15213, would be appreciated.
