She was born Sept. 11, 1911, in Stonycreek Township, daughter of the late George and Estella (Tospon) Barkman Sr. She was preceded in death by daughter Florence. She is survived by her husband Manford, sons Floyd and Kenneth of Somerset RD 5, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Sister of: Mrs. Milton (Marie) Lowry and Edgar Barkman of Friedens RD 2; Mrs. Elsie Schuster, Stoystown RD 3; Mrs. Earl (Ruth) Fisher, Somerset RD 6; George Barkman Jr., Berlin RD 1; Harold Barkman, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Jay P. (Victoria) Walker, Berlin RD 3; and Robert Barkman, Oakland Road, Md. She was past president of Second Society of Farm Women; was employed at Howard Johnson's Gift Shop, South Somerset, four years. She was retired after 12 years service with the J. J. Newbery Co., Somerset. Member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Shanksville. Services were held at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home with the Rev.
