LEHMAN Death and Funeral of Melvin T. Lehman GARRETT, Jan. 4 - Melvin T. Lehman, aged 31, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Humphrey Lehman of Garrett, who had been ailing in health for a year or two, suffering from internal ailments, died in the Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, last Saturday. Melvin Lehman came to Garrett from Bedford County with his parents, 20 years ago. He grew to manhood here and during his boyhood attended the Garrett schools. After quitting school he began working at various kinds of jobs and proved to be a good willing worker. He was liked by his employers and fellow employees; also by his teachers and schoolmates. From a lad up he was seldom out of good humor. He was employed at Detroit, Mich., and Painesville, Ohio, for eight years. He had been married, but was separated from his wife. He leaves one daughter, Louise; his father and mother and the following brothers and sisters: William, Lloyd, Leroy and Paul, at home; Mrs. Miles Brant, of Berlin; Mrs. Guy Maphis and Mrs. Russell Brant, South Cumberland, Md., and Walter Lehman, of Detroit, Mich. His body was brought to the home of his parents Saturday evening. Funeral services were conducted in the Church of the Brethren at Hyndman, by Rev. Guy Wampler. J. N. Johnson & Son, of Berlin, had charge of the burial arrangements. Interment was made in the Hyndman Cemetery, Monday afternoon. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends.
