Leister, 77, of Casey Lane, Fairhope, died Nov. 9, 1999, at home. Born Oct. 20, 1922, in Glencoe, son of the late James and Edna (Emerick) Leister. Survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Phyllis Hoffman; children Shirley, married to Wayne Sechler, of Garrett; Arthur, married to the former Jean Harclerode, of Manns Choice; Jane, married to Terry Ryan, of Hollidaysburg; Janice, married to Robert Koval, of Berlin; Terry, married to the former Tammy Hoover, of Garrett; and Vicki, married to Vincent Flannery, of Sipesville; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Brother of Marybelle Kline of Corriganville, Elwood of Bedford, Ralph of Glencoe, Helen Tomlinson of Manns Choice, Jacob of Aurora, Ohio, Hazel Tomlinson of Irwin, Fred of Berlin, Delores Kline of Waynesboro, Roy of Pearl, Miss., Dotty of Bedford, Kay Diehl of Bedford, Stanley of Glencoe, and Thelma Hillegass of Schellsburg. World War II Army veteran. He was a recipient of the American Service Medal, the European, African and Mid East Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Retired from B&O Railroad. Formerly employed by H.J. Beamer Ford of Meyersdale. Attended Fairhope Community Church and was the leader of the Mountain Bluegrass Boys Band. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Pastor Daniel Leister and Pastor Bradley Reider.
