All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ _______________________________________________ ALFRETTA LEITH An 84-year-old Bedford County resident, a native of Meyersdale, collapsed shortly after 11 p.m., Monday, while crossing the highway to her home after visiting a neighbor in Rainsburg, about eight miles south of Bedford. She was Mrs. Alfretta Leith, who was pronounced dead on arrival at Bedford County Memorial Hospital. S. Alton Barefoot, Bedford County coroner, attributed her death to a heart attack. Mrs. Leith, the widow of Peter Leith, was born Sept. 18, 1888, in Meyersdale, the daughter of the late Harmon and Lucine Logue. Mrs. Leith was a member of Rainsburg United Methodist Church. She is survived by three nephews, Carl D. Wilson, Bedford Road, Cumberland; Edward Landis, San Francisco; and Jerry Landis, Winston-Salem, N.C.; and four nieces, Mrs. John Whitney, Mrs. Cecil McCullough and Mrs. Vance Robinson, all of Cumberland; and Mrs. Mary Murphy, Baltimore. Funeral service will be held this (Thursday) morning in Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cumberland, with Rev. John Park officiating. Interment in Sunset Memorial Park.
