The child was removed to the Central City Hospital where she died 15 minutes later. Her injuries consisted of fractures of the skull and left leg and severe lacerations of the face, body and hands. The left side of her face was badly crushed. She never regained consciousness. Guy E. Hostetler, aged 30, of Cairnbrook, a school teacher in Shade Township, was the driver of the automobile that struck the Lenhart child. He was released on his own recognizance following the accident and ordered to appear at the inquest to be held by Coroner H. S. Kimmel, of Somerset, in the office of Justice of the Peace Francis Mulcahy. The Lenhart girl was a pupil in the second grade. School had been dismissed earlier than usual and not being notified, the borough officer was not present to look after the safety of the school children. Nellie Lenhart is survived by her father, a sister, Helen, and these brothers: Paul, Stiney, Joseph, John and Louis, all at home. Her mother died two years ago at the Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Funeral services for the child were held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Polish Catholic Church. Meyersdale Republican, January 9, 1930
