He was the oldest son of John and Lydia (Durst) Lenhart. He lived almost his entire life within a mile of his parental home. He was a man of sterling character and was a loving and much loved husband and father. Surviving to mourn his loss are his wife and these children: Arthur, Ohiopyle; Beatrice Shaffer, Rice's Landing, and Jonas, Listonburg; also two sisters, Mrs. Florence Wilhelm and Mrs. Mary Rodehaver; and four brothers, Jesse, George and Edward of Listonburg, and Newton of Youngstown, Ohio. A brother, Samuel, and a sister, Mrs. Laura Lichty, preceded him in death a few years ago. Mr. Lenhart was a member of the Masonic order at Addison, and a member of the Methodist Church, Listonburg. Funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. Frederick Crowe, at the church. H. B. Rishebarger had charge of the arrangements and interment in the Addison Cemetery. Death came to him as a blessing after a long period of suffering. Meyersdale Republican, June 13, 1940
