Lepley, 82, of Berlin RD 4 died Oct. 12, 1983, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 25, 1901, in Elk Lick township, the son of Charles a. and Catherine (Herwig) Lepley. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Marian (Brant); sisters, Dorothy and Miriam; and brother, John. He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth (Baker) Saylor; and a daughter, Mrs. Galen (Jean) Shaffer, Berlin RD 4; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; also these stepchildren: Mrs. James (Doris) Walter, Appalachia, N.Y.; Glenn Saylor, Warren, Ohio; and Mrs. Joseph (Janet) Sanner of Butler; and four step-grandchildren. He was the brother of William H., Berlin RD 4; Mrs. Clara Brant, Berlin; and Mrs. Naomi Lape, of Somerset. He was a retired farmer and member of Valley Grange for over 50 years. Friends were received at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, where services were held with the Rev. Kenneth S. Swanson and the Rev. James A. Walter officiating. Interment, St. Paulis Ridge Cemetery.
