Lepley, 85, Wellersburg, died Dec. 3, 2005, at home. Born Feb. 18, 1920 in Southhampton Township, the son of the late Oscar Adam and Cora Elizabeth Getz Lepley. Also preceded in death by brother, Howard Lepley; sisters, Mary Catherine "Tad" Sanson, Hazel M. Deffenbaugh and Doris Clites. Survived by special friend Elva Long, Wellersburg; children, Thomas H. Lepley, married to the former Barbara Kerr, Dallastown, William L. Lepley, married to Yvette, Punxsutawney and Barbara J., married to Ernest E. Certo Jr., Punxsutawney; grandchildren, Lisa Card, Ashville Bay, N.Y., Christopher Certo, Lakewood, N.Y., Kristine and Adam Lepley and Cole Lepley, Punxsutawney; great-grandchildren, Vincent and Dominic Certo and Alex and Nathan Card. John was a member of Victory Bible Church, Meyersdale; FOP Lodge 61 in Punxsutawney, Retired State Police Association of Pa. and VFW Post 6025 Mount Savage, Md. World War II veteran where he served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps with the 57th Bombing Wing, 487th Squadron, 340th Bombing Group. John was a sergeant in the Pa. State Police where he retired after 28 years of service. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence St., Hyndman, where funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Gary Morris officiating. Interment, Cooks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the WMHS Memorial Hospice or the Victory Bible Church.
