He was the second son of the late Adam C. Lepley and was born March 21, 1866. He spent the early years of his life on what is now known as the Lloyd Hay farm, in Elk Lick Twp., and when a young man located in Connellsville where he spent the remainder of his life, working as a machinist until old age. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Smutz) Lepley, and the following children: Edward Lepley, Cleveland, O.; Ralph and Mary Catherine, living at home. One daughter preceded him in death. He is also survived by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Lucinda Poorbaugh, Monrovia, Cal.; Mrs. Clarissia Yutzy, Akron, O.; Mrs. Jared Walker, Berkley's Mill; Mrs. Lloyd A. Hay, Meyersdale R.D. 1; Mrs. Etta Spangler, Meyersdale; Mrs. Richard S. Nicholson, Pleasant Hill; H. G. Lepley, St. Paul; and Charles Lepley, Somerset R.D. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon in the Reformed Church, Connellsville. Preceding the funeral, his body lay in state at the McCormick Funeral Home.
