Leslie, 89, of Berlin RD 4, died Nov. 2, 1985, at the V.A. Hospital, Altoona. Born Dec. 29, 1895, in Connellsville, son of the late Zenas and Cora (May) Leslie. Also preceded in death by his wife, the former Margaret Schultz; a son, John I. Jr.; a grandson, Gerald; four brothers and two sisters. Survived by these children: Dale S., Berlin RD 4; and Mrs. Betty Pannone, Cumberland, Md.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A brother of: Harry, Hartstown, Pa.; and Mrs. Dorothy Groff, Berlin. Veteran of World War I, member of Company C and a Purple Heart recipient. Member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Meyersdale, past commander of American Legion Post 112 and V.F.W. Post 3504; life-member of Soldats De La Marne. Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Lloyd Wilson officiating.
