  LETCHER, Betty Lint  11/16/07  Daily American
  
   Betty Lint Letcher, 92, Somerset, died Nov. 13, 2007, at The Patriot. Born Sept. 11,
  1915, in Somerset, she is a daughter of the late Earl B. and Anna (Pritts) Lint. Also
  preceded in death by her husband, Richard N. Letcher, who died in 1972, her sisters, Mrs.
  Harry A. (Helen) Friedline, Mrs. Lynden T. (Dorothy) Robinson, Mrs. Reid A. (Thelma) 
  Weimer, Mrs. Shannon W. (Kathryn) Smith and Mrs. Dean R. (Anagene) Bailey; and a brother,
  Earl W.F. Lint. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Dean R. Bailey; and several nieces
  and nephews and their families. A 1933 graduate of Somerset High School, she served as
  class reunion secretary. She was employed as an assistant manager at the Somerset J.G.
  McCrory variety store from 1934- 1956. She and her husband then operated Letcher's Market
  in Somerset until 1963. She was a caregiver to several members of her family. She served
  as president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in the early 1950's. 1950s. A lifelong member
  of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and for many years she was in charge of the altar,
  altar flowers, and the Communion Ser- vice. She was one of the initial residents of the
  Somerset Towers in 1977 and she was very involved in that community. She moved to The
  Patriot in 2000. A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday in the Salem Chapel of
  the United Church of Christ with the Rev. Matthew Deal officiating. Internment will be
  private in the Hooversville Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Paul's United 
  Church of Christ, 202 W. Union St. Somerset PA 15501. Arrangements under the direction
  of the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home.
