Letcher, 59, West Union Street, Somerset, died Dec. 5, 1972, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Aug. 21, 1913, in Henry, W.Va., a son of Richard and Dora (Cunningham) Letcher. Preceded in death by parents; brother Howard; and sister, Mrs. Gladys Gates. Survived by his widow, Betty Lint Letcher; and a sister, Mrs. Grace Riegard, Johnstown. Member of the United Methodist Church, Hooversville, veteran of World War II, served overseas with the U.S. Army. Member of VFW Post 554, Somerset; Somerset Cooties; and Somerset Lodge F and AM 358. Friends are being received in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Richard H. Shellenberger officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Somerset United Church of Christ Development Fund. Masonic rites will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, where VFW rites were conducted Tuesday evening. Daily American, December 6, 1972 [L0749]
