LEWIS Anthony Cresent Lewis, 69, died at his home near Grantsville, Md., on Thursday, Dec. 20. He was born in New York City, in 1876, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Newton Lewis. He married Joan Grill in 1900, and one son was born to that union, John Lewis now of Johnstown, Pa. After the death of his first wife, Mr. Lewis, in 1905, married Miss Mary Walls of Grantsville, who bore him twelve children, ten of whom survive. They are: Frank, Claymont, Del.; Mrs. Elmer Miller, Grantsville; Charles, Cambridge Springs, Pa.; Joseph, Jamestown, Pa.; Mrs. Arthur Wright, Stoystown, Pa.; Mrs. Clyde Yommer, Jennings, Md.; Mrs. Clyde Colflesh, Grantsville; Ray, Baltimore; Elmer, Johnson City, Tenn., and Carl, who is serving in the navy in Hawaii. Becoming a widower a second time, Mr. Lewis, in 1943, married as his third wife, Mrs. J. E. Walls, of near Grantsville, who survives. Eighteen grandchildren, besides the eleven children above named also survive. Funeral services were conducted at the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren, on Sunday, Dec. 23, at 10 a.m., by Rev. Ross Speicher of Accident, Md. Meyersdale Republican, December 27, 1945
