Lewis, 82, Friedens RD 2, died Sept. 9, 1984, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Feb. 25, 1902, in Preston County, W.Va., son of the late Marshall and Cora (Summers) Lewis. Preceded in death by his wife, the former Olive Wright, Aug. 4, 1982; one daughter, Nancy; and 13 brothers and sisters. Survived by these children: Helen, wife of Tom Fitzgerald, Friedens RD 2; Mildred, wife of Bernard Mostoller, Niles, Ohio; Lucy, wife of J. Kenneth Miller, Somerset RD 4; Lillian Yoder, Friedens RD 2; Mary, wife of Harry Baker, Somerset RD 3; Pauline, wife of Eddie Pollock, Somerset RD 2; William, married to the former Jane Nicklow, Friedens; James, married to the former Patricia Conn, Friedens; Carol, wife of Daniel Vettori, Friedens RD 2; and Jackie, at home; 33 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Orville, Fallensbee, W.Va. Member of the Geiger Church of the Brethren. A retired coal miner. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today (Monday) and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Gerald E. Deffenbaugh officiating. Interment, Friedens Cemetery. Daily American, September 10, 1984 [L0764]
