Leydig, 77, of Buffalo Mills RD 1, died Sunday, May 27, 1990, at the Hospice Unit of Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland, Md. Born Jan. 12, 1913, in Londonderry Township, he was a son of the late Lester M. and Zora L. (Bohn) Leydig. He was the owner and operator of the Leydig Grocery Store and had been previously employed for 17 years at Celanese and for 12 years with the B&O Railroad. He was a Protestant by faith and was a member of the Hyndman Lodge 589, F&AM. Surviving is his widow, Clara L. (Waugerman) Leydig. Also surviving are one son, Clyde E. Leydig, Buffalo Mills; three daughters, Madalee R. Nurkin, Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Lana K. Oliver and Mrs. Willa L. Lehman, both of Buffalo Mills; two brothers, Herbert L. Leydig, Leesburg, Fla., and Theodore Leydig, Buffalo Mills; one sister, Mrs. Ethel L. Snydey, Hyndman; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Leroy Logsdon and Rev. Ray Short officiating. Interment will follow at the Madley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the following grandsons and grandsons-in-law, Michael Lehman, Shawn Leydig, Richard Crouse, Timothy Haffield, Craig Stair and Rick Emerick.
