(Dolly) 04/21/07 Daily American Geneva C. "Dolly" Leydig, 88, Berlin, died April 19, 2007, at Somerset Hospital. Born April 17, 1919, in Brothersvalley Township, the daughter of Jacob H. and Nellie C. (Menges) Countryman. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest E. Leydig on March 3, 1976; infant daughter, Gwendolyn; and infant sister, Ruth. Survived by children: Jean, married to James Ferguson and Dale, married to the former Carol Miller, all of Berlin; and Tim, married to the former Carol Ballou, Derwood, Md.; grandchildren: Jay (Susan) Ferguson, Craig (Julie) Leydig, Keith (Denise) Leydig, all of Berlin; Sherrie (Michael) Floyd, Columbia, S.C.; Jeff (Rhea) Leydig, Huntington; Matthew Leydig, McLean, Va.; Jennifer Leydig, Derwood, Md.; and Richard Lohr, Brooklyn, N.Y.; great-grandchildren: Adam, John and Sara Ferguson, Kaitlyn and Mackenzie Morgan, Lindsey, Kordell, Nathan, Jacob, Brianna, Jessica, and Alex Leydig, Ashley DeFelice and Aria Lohr. Sisters-in-law: Marie Countryman, Berlin and Margaret Leydig, Buffalo Mills. A 1937 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin. Also a member of Jolly Quilters, Fidelis Sunday School Class, Second Society Farm Women, Lady Berlin Rebekah Lodge, Trinity Chapter 138 Order of Eastern Star and its Sunshine Club, and Valley Senior Extension Club. She was a former employee of Newberry's in Somerset. Family will receive friends from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Dr. John Harmon officiating. Eastern Star Memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Sunday evening. Interment Berlin IOOF cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 507 Main St., Berlin, PA 15530.
