LEYDIG Relatives and friends of the Leydig family were very much saddened at the Christmas season when they learned of the death of I. D. Leydig at his home in Clewiston, Florida, Dec. 1st. Mr. Leydig had been in failing health for some time, due to advanced years and during the last few months had been confined to his bed most of the time, he seemed very lonely after the death of his wife and companion, Mrs. Anna B. Leydig, who passed away last March near the Easter holiday. Mr. Leydig was born in Northampton Township and resided here many years. He was always a willing worker in the community, taking a leading part in all local activities. He was a church and Sunday school teacher and was superintendent and teacher in the Reformed Sunday School, for many years, and was greatly missed when he went to Florida to live. Our loss was Florida's gain, however, for he continued his church work in Clewiston, taking an active part until his health would not permit him to attend. Truly it can be said: "He has fought a good fight, he has finished the course, he has kept the faith; henceforth, there is laid up for him a crown of righteousness." The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved family. Mr. Leydig also was very humorous, and loved to tell his stories; even during his illness he could still smile and tell a story if he thought it would lighten another heart or make another smile.
