Leydig, 64, died June 13, 1978, at Bedford Memorial Hospital. Born March 23, 1914 in Hyndman, he was a son of the late Edgar B. and Pearl (Forbeck) Leydig. Mr. Leydig was a retired laborer and a member of the Kennell's Mill Sportsmen's Club and the Paradise Valley Sportsmen's Club. Surviving are his wife, Wilda (Smith) Leydig; one stepson, Newton Huffman, Hyndman; six daughters, Mrs. Pearl Minnick, Mrs. Cecelia Merkel, both of Hyndman; Mrs. Deane Fazenbaker, Markleysville; Mrs. Phyllis Tew, Mrs. Robert Logsdon, both of Bedford; Mrs. Carolyn Clora, Claysburg, Pa.; five brothers, Eddie Leydig, Ray Leydig, both of Jeannette; Samuel Leydig, Hyndman RD 1; Raymond Burley, Rockwood; Virgil Emerick, Cumberland, Md.; three sisters, Mrs. Arleen Keller, Mrs. Rosalie Kruse, Mrs. Marie Eckmayer, all of Baltimore, Md.; and 26 grandchildren. Friends were received at the Zeigler Funeral Home where services were conducted with the Rev. Indernauth P. Shiwpal officiating. Interment will be in Hyndman Cemetery.
