He was preceded in death by his son, Robert, in Oct. 1906, and his wife, Anna B., on Mar. 20, 1944. Mr. Leydig was born near Glencoe, Pa., Dec. 31, 1858, the son of Dennis and Leah Troutman Leydig. He was united in marriage to Anna B. Coleman, Apr. 5, 1887, at Somerset, Pa. He was in the general merchandising business in Salisbury with George K. Walker from 1887 to 1898, when he moved to Glencoe and opened a general merchandise store there which he operated until 1918. After retiring from business Mr. and Mrs. Leydig lived in a bungalow just out of Glencoe until the fall of 1928 when they moved to Clewiston, Fla., to reside with their daughters, Miss Marion F. Leydig and Mrs. Leah R. Spicer, and two granddaughters, Betty Spicer Bell and Roberta Spicer. A daughter, Elizabeth, wife of Frederick W. DeLozier, and grandchildren, Marion and William DeLozier, reside in South Connellsville. Simon R. Leydig of cumberland, Md., is the only brother living of a family of eight children. Mr. Leydig was a charter member of the Masonic Lodge of Meyersdale. He was buried at West Palm Beach, Fla., Dec. 23. Meyersdale Republican, December 28, 1944
