Liberty, 71, Johnstown, died Feb. 3, 1995, at Conemaugh Hospital. Born Dec. 29, 1923, in Wilbur, son of Howard and Stella (Cramer) Liberty. Preceded in death by parents; and infant sister, and sister, Hazel Maluchnick, and brothers, Clifford and Willard. Survived by his wife, the former Doris (Nichols) Liberty; daughters: Flora "Fluff," wife of Leonard Whatmore, and Katherine Liberty, both of Johnstown; also stepchildren: Donald Hayes, married to the former Margaret Shepphard, Hollsopple; Mary Lou, wife of Charles Zourelias, Tarentum; Marjorie, wife of Robert Bywater, Johnstown; Theodore Hayes and wife, Virginia, Export. Brother of Richard, Alabama, and Kenneth, Georgia. Survived by grandson, Anthony "Tony" Whatmore. A former coal miner. Recently employed and retired from former Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. Friends were received Sunday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, where service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Paul W. Stauffer. Interment, Otterbein Cemetery.
