Lichliter Sr., 82, Stoystown, died Oct. 17, 1987, at Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Sept. 10, 1905, in Salisbury, son of Christian S. and Minnie (Enos) Lichliter. Preceded in death by parents, and sisters, Mae Lowry, Lucille Miller, Floreve Riley and Effie Stotler. Survived by wife, former Kathryn Spence, to whom he was married for 55 years; son, David E. Jr., married to former Patricia Black, Johnstown; and grandchildren, Melanie and Jeffrey. Brother of Levi G., Camp Hill; Wilbur B., Salisbury; and Heil H., New Cumberland. Retired in 1971 after spending 43 years in public schools; two years as teacher at Elk Lick Township; 18 years as teacher and athletic coach at Boswell High School; two years as supervising principal and basketball coach at Hooversville High School; 19 years as supervising principal of Forbes Joint School System; and two years as assistant supervising principal of North Star School System. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Stoystown, where he served on consistory and was church treasurer and Sunday school teacher. World War II Army veteran. Member and past commander of Boswell Post 461, American Legion. Member of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and PTEA. Family received friends Sunday and will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing at St. Paul's United Church of Christ from 10 a.m. to time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Karyl J. Leslie, officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery, Meyersdale.
