Born Aug. 10, 1908, in Meyersdale. Daughter of George and Annie M. (Bangerd) Spence. Preceded in death by parents; husband, David E. Sr.; a brother and a sister. Survived by son, David E. Jr., married to the former Patricia Black of Johnstown; and grandchildren, Melanie Jean and Jeffrey Alan. She was a graduate of Meyersdale High School and Strayers Business College, Baltimore, Md. She was a former secretary at National Bureau of Standards and War Production Board, both of Washington, D.C. Also former administrative secretary for Forbes Joint Schools. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Stoystown, and Stoystown Senior Citizens. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Rev. Joseph Beer officiating.
