"Wib" Lichliter, 94, of 168 Ord St., Salisbury, Pa. died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998 at Meyersdale Medical Center, Meyersdale. Born July 27, 1903 in Salisbury. He was a son of the late Christopher and Minnie (Enos) Lichliter. He was preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth (Lichty) Lichliter. Mr. Lichliter is survived by: his wife, Nellie (Fay) Lichliter; a step son, Stephen Monn, Claremont, Fla., a step daughter, Fay Gnagey, Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Heil Lichliter, Grantham, Pa.; two step grandchildren, Gretchen Fitzpatrick and Erin Haegel and a step grandson, Liam Fitzpatrick. Also a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, where he was elder emeritus and a former treasurer and choir member for 35 years. He has been employed as an insurance agent with Mutual of New York for 66 years. Mr. Lichliter was a charter member of the Salisbury Lions Club, member of Salisbury Fire Department, Meyersdale Lodge #548 F.&A.M., Uniontown Commandery, Harrisburg Consistory Scottish Rite and Jaffe Shrine Temple, Altoona. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., Salisbury, Pa. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services will be conducted at St. John's United Church of Christ at noon Saturday, Rev. Raymond Brown officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. John's United Church of Christ Memorial Fund. Daily American, January 30, 1998 [L0860]
