F. Schrock at 10 o'clock a.m. He moved from Pennsylvania to Iowa with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Lichty, at the age of 16. Here a few years later he married Sara Miller. They lived on a farm in Orange Township near Waterloo for a number of years. To this union a daughter, Elsie, was born. At the age of maturity she married Dennis Schrock. This daughter died in 1912 leaving three little boys. When Mr. Schrock married again, Grandpa and Grandma Lichty continued to have their home with him and his new wife and were a veritable father and mother to them both. His wife died in the Schrock home, January 10, 1930. The Lichtys had a foster son who came into their home when he was two years old, Glenn Lichty, now living in Iowa with his wife and son. Mr. Lichty also leaves three grandsons, Earl L. Schrock of Los Angeles, Perry W. Schrock of LaVerne, and Ralph E. Schrock, of Azusa, Cal.; also great- grandchildren. Soon after his marriage, Ephraim Lichty was elected to the office of deacon in the Church of the Brethren, in which capacity he served most faithfully. While living in Iowa he and his good wife were known far and wide for their good works and kindness to the unfortunate. He was an enthusiastic supporter of Mount Morris College and the General Mission board of the Church of the Brethren. His last contribution was to the new Church of the Brethren at LaVerne, in the foyer of which is a fitting memorial, for he sponsored the project of having the words, "O magnify the Lord and let us exalt his name together", displayed there. Funeral services were held in the church Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 23, with Pastor Galen K. Walker, assisted by Dr. S. Z. Sharp, in charge. Beautiful music characterized this service, very much in keeping with the beautiful life of the deceased. Many former Waterloo residents now living in various parts of Southern California were present. Meyersdale Republican, January 1, 1931
