Lichty, 73, Meyersdale, died July 2, 1988 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born May 7, 1915 in Salisbury, son of the late Jonas S. and Lela (Schramm) Lichty. Survived by wife, the former Una J. Byer and these children: Mrs. Gail L. Jinar, Bowie, Md.; James D., Reiterstown, Md.; Gerald L., Woodbridge, Va.; Richard A., Laurel, Md.; and Joseph E., State College; also 13 grandchildren. A brother of: Edward S., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; David J., Cumberland, Md.; Paul J., Mrs. Mary Jo Shultz, Mrs. Patricia Ann Werner, and Miss Sara Jane Lichty, all of Salisbury. Member of Amity United Church of Christ where he served on the consistory. Retired from the Chessie System as a conductor with 36 years of service. Member and president of Meyersdale Lions Club. Also member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge 1951. Friends were received Monday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday (today) at the Amity United Church of Christ with Pastor Carl Mitchell officiating.
