Shipley, on Fair Oaks Way, Tuesday evening, October 11th. Her age was 72 years and 26 days. Cause of her death is believed to have been a paralytic stroke. Mrs. Lichty had suffered a paralytic stroke last October, and for a time was in a serious condition, and previously had suffered two strokes. She had returned to her home here, Tuesday, after a motor trip to Somerset, and in the evening had complained of not feeling well. Later in the evening, before retiring, she went outside to cover several plants to keep them from the frost, and while engaged in this task, dropped over, dying almost instantly. Mrs. Lichty was born in Addison September 15th, 1860, a daughter of the late Thomas and Lida Brooks. She was married in 1883 to Freeman Lichty, who preceded her to the grave in 1916. The couple, after their marriage made their home in Lower Turkeyfoot Township and in Ursina, and some few years previous to Mr. Lichty's death, came to Confluence, where Mrs. Lichty has since made her home. Mrs. Lichty was a life long member of the Ursina Lutheran Church, having become affiliated with that church in young girlhood. She was a kind mother and friend and leaves many to mourn her loss. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Grover C. (Maud) Shipley; one sister, Mrs. Frances Aurandt of Huntington, W.Va., and two half-brothers, Daniel Albright of Camden, N.J., and William Albright, of Connellsville. Funeral services were held at the Confluence Lutheran Church at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Rev. Miller, pastor of the Rockwood Lutheran Church, officiating in the absence of Rev. Geo. O. Ritter of the local church. Interment in Ursina Cemetery. Funeral Director Charles B. Humbert was in charge. Those from a distance who attended the obsequies were Mrs. Daniel Albright and son Lawrence of Camden, N.J., Mr. and Mrs. William Albright, Mrs. George Schmiddle, Mrs. Elmer Hines and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Younkin and five children of Connellsville.
