She is survived by one son, Ralph A. Lichty, with whom she lived; also by two granddaughters. Mrs. Lichty was the youngest daughter of Jacob and Mary (Meyers) Musser and was born on the Musser farm in Stonycreek Township. Later she moved with her parents to Deep Spring Farm, Brothersvalley Township, where she grew to young womanhood and where she was married in 1887, to Mr. Lichty, who took his bride immediately to Carleton, Nebr., where she lived until her death. At the time of her death she lacked six days of reaching 87 years. She was a fine Christian woman and a lifelong worker in the Brethren Church in Carleton, in which community she was loved and respected by all who knew her. Mrs. Myrtle Frost Heller was taken into the Lichty home when a small girl and grew up as their foster child, Mrs. Lichty loving and mothering her as her own. Funeral services were held in the Brethren Church in Carleton, Wednesday, Aug. 27th, Rev. Mr. Kemper of Morrill, Kansas, a former pastor officiating, assisted by Rev. Meyers of the Carleton Church of the Brethren. Many friends gathered to pay tribute to one who had been a friend to them through many years. Her body was laid to rest in the Carleton Cemetery. Mrs. J. C. Werner, Mrs. Harry Shultz and D. Jay Musser, all of Berlin, were nieces and nephew of Mrs. Lichty, who was well known in Somerset County. Meyersdale Republican, September 4, 1947
