The services were conducted by Rev. J. S. Zimmerman who had known the deceased for 31 years. Rev. Galen K. Walker assisted. Misses Lois Rupert and Mae Chronister and Messrs. Marvin Bollinger and Vernon Heckman sang two quartet numbers and Miss Rupert and Mr. Bollinger sang a duet. The pallbearers were D. E. Fox, D. B. Stayer, D. P. Holsinger, George Throne, George Dull and J. S. Brower. Among the people present were Mr. and Mrs. John Wolfe of Los Angeles; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brubaker of Lynwood; E. K. Beeghley of Long Beach; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Miller, and Mrs. Eliza Sweitzer, of Pasadena; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Schrock of Los Angeles, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Schrock of Azusa. Many former Waterloo, Iowa, people were present as the deceased was well known at that place for her quiet life of helpfulness. Interment was made in the Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Lichty leaves to mourn her loss her aged husband, with whom she lived for 55 years, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: John Miller, Davenport, Neb.; Mrs. Susan Dietz of Ohio; A. B. Miller of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. P. J. Summy and Mrs. Ada Saylor of Waterloo, Iowa, and Mrs. E. S. Schrock, of Friedens, Pa. She was the daughter of William and Lydia Miller and was born in Meyersdale, Pa., in 1853. The family moved to Iowa when she was six years old. There she lived until six years ago when she came to La Verne with her husband. Here they made their home with Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Schrock. One daughter, Elsie, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Lichty. She married D. F. Schrock. The Lichty's had their home with her. In the fall of 1912 the Schrocks came to California. Mrs. Schrock caught cold on the way and died November 12, six weeks after leaving Waterloo, Iowa. The Lichty's were here a short time then but all went back to Iowa with the body of Mrs. Schrock. Mrs. Lichty cared for the three orphan grandsons until their father married again, his second wife being Miss Cora Peck of Maple Glen, Somerset County, Pa. Soon afterward she took up her abode with the Schrocks and continued living there until her death. Tho quiet and of a home-loving nature, she was a power in the community, especially in church circles. Always the first on the scene in time of sickness or trouble. Mrs. Lichty's last social function was participation in the reception for her youngest grandson and his bride, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Schrock of Azusa, held a week ago Sunday.
