Lichvar, 89, of Berlin died Feb. 5, 2003 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born May 8, 1913 in Salisbury, daughter of George and Emily Mae (Lichliter) Lowry. Preceded in death by parents, husband John and brother William Lowry. Survived by daughter, Kay Ann married to William R. Cober Jr. of Berlin and these grandchildren: Elizabeth married to Joseph Gillette of Gaithersburg, Md., Christa Anne Cober of Berlin, William John Cober of Richwood, W.Va. and Michael Livengood of Lansdale. And also Holly Giles of Gettysburg who resided with the family in 1964 and 1965. Graduate of Salisbury High School and Philadelphia School of Masseuse Therapy. Former employee of National Geographic Society and the Dept. of War in Washington, D.C. Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin; Salisbury V.F.W. Auxiliary; Berlin American Legion Auxiliary and Berlin Area Historical Society. Charter member of the former Meyersdale Ladies of the Elks Lodge 1954. Former Berlin High School Basketball Statistician for 21 years. Avid fan of Berlin High School, W.V.U. and Penn State athletics and her beloved Duke Blue Devil Basketball Team. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin. Rev. Melvin A. Kirk, Jr. and Rev. Glenn Foster officiating. Interment Salisbury Cemetery.
