Born Oct. 20, 1910, in Hyasota, son of Nicholas and Eva (Chervinsky) Lichvar Sr. Preceded in death by parents; infant sister; infant brother; brother, Joseph; sister, Anna MacGregor. Survived by widow, former Elda Petet; and son, Leonard at home, engaged to Rebecca M. Hostetler. Brother of Julia, widow of Louis Cheatham, LaJolla, Calif.; John, married to former Lucille Lowry, Berlin; Nicholas Jr., married to former Olga Lahovin, Philadelphia; Andrew, married to former Syvia Hyatt, Mt. Airy, N.C.; Mary, wife of Max Walberg, Dallas, Texas. Member of SS. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Boswell; Jenner Rod and Gun Club; Boswell Post 461, American Legion; Somerset County Oldtimers Baseball Association. Former Boswell Borough Councilman. Army veteran of World War II, participated in the landing at Omaha Beach and the Battle of the Bulge. Retired employee of Jim Dolan Chevrolet, Somerset. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where parastas will be sung at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Prayer service at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday followed by funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Church, the Rev. John W. Govrusik. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery.
